Walking around in cities and towns
We see lots of trees with their bright green crowns
They stand majestic, a sight to behold
Enduring the rain and the heat and the cold
Trees have a remarkable skill to share
They take carbon dioxide from the air
Then convert it to oxygen to help us breathe
This is the gift that they bequeath
Having trees around is good for the mind
They can lower stress and help us unwind
They're beautiful too, an inspiring sight
They sit in the landscape where they look so right
So let us be thankful for our city trees
They gladden our hearts as they sway in the breeze
And as they grow older and the branches climb
We know they'll be there for a very long time
